CMA Encourages the Public to Report Individuals & Websites that Promote ‘Forex’ Activities

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) confirmed dealing with websites that promote (Forex) activity via three channels. The first is through public awareness of the websites violations and the high risks of investment. Moreover, the CMA and The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) work together to counter this activity. Recently, the two authorities co-launched an awareness campaign to warn against such suspicious activities and urge all to exercise extreme caution and vigilance and refrain from investing, contributing, dealing or trading in any amounts in any activity involving securities or foreign currency transactions.

The CMA’s second channel is coordinating with the concerned governmental authorities through not licensing websites or companies promoting suspicious activities, prohibiting any media presence through advertisements and sponsorship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The third channel is encouraging investors and the public to report to the CMA any individuals or websites that promote and offer suspicious investment activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia  in order for the CMA to take necessary action with concerned parties.

In addition, many websites have been shut down by the CMA in coordination with concerned authorities. However, due to easily creating and building new websites, the CMA and SAMA jointly emphasizes on risk awareness and education.

Therefore, any individual exposed to any suspicious activity is requested to contact the Capital Market Authority directly via the following channels:
